Floristic Composition, Vegetation Structure and Regeneration Statues of Woody Plant Species of Sheleko Medihanialem State Forest in Fogera District, Ethiopia

This study was conducted in Shelekomedihanialem state forest Fogera district, South Gondar Zone, Ethiopia, to identify the floristic composition, vegetation structure,diversity and regeneration status of woody plant species. Systematic sampling method used collect data from 5 transect lines 200m far apart 50(20m x20m) quadrates at distance 100m. To for seedling sapling, five 1m x sub-plots were laid each main plot, where four corners one center. Diameter breast height measured DBH ≥2.5cm while was≥2m.Shannon-WiennerDiversity Index calculate species diversity, richness evenness. The densities mature, sapling 2055.5,2240 2400.5 individuals/ha respectively basal area 2.246 m 2 /ha.The result structure analysis revealed that dominated by small-sized trees shrubs indicating it is stage secondary development. Finally, this indicated population most a good recruitment level. From point view managing forests sake biodiversity conservation, if appropriate management measures are taken, nature tree could be improved.
